Investment

In my ebook, “33 Ways To Save More Money In Singapore”, I talked about buying cars.

DONT buy cars, unless you NEED it as a “social proof” to show your prospects that you are successful.

There is a joke which says, when NORMAL people looks for a husband, she looks at her boyfriend’s car.

When an accountant looks for a husband, she looks at his bank account. :)

….Let me attest a fact.

Our public transport is arguably the BEST in the world.

Lets be frank.

How long do you take to wait for an MRT train or a bus?

If you are really late for your appointment, you can once in a while, take a cab. (Sometimes, I realised taking MRT is faster, to avoid traffic jams)

With new installation of ERP gantries all over Singapore, coupled by spikes in parking charges, it is indeed wise to take public transport.

Here is another reason why you should take public transport.

Rise in premium rate for your certificate of entitlement.

COE categories

Premiums

% change

Cars up to 1,600cc and taxis $16,930 +10
Cars above 1,600cc $19,501 +2.6
Commercial vehicles $18,900 +7.3
Motorcycles $1,012 +12.3
Open $19,389 +2.8

NOT ONLY THAT!

…now, car dealers are raising the prices of their cars.

Honda agent Kah Motor, for example, just upped the prices of its cars by around $1,000 before yesterday’s tender closed at 4pm.

…Think deep about it.

Do you still really NEED a car? :)
