Yesterday, I went to Johor Bahru, to view the condominium apartment I am going to buy 4 years from now.
I paid 10 ringgit from JB City Square to get there.
Overall, the place is developing.
Its more like a GHOST TOWN and construction workers were busy, toiling around to build up the place.
I walked around the place for about half and hour.
These are some of the pictures, I will post more tomorrow.
I surveyed the Danga View Condominium.
I befriended the security and chatted with them.
My conversation went this way. (In Malay)
Me: “Abang, are there lots of foreigners renting apartment in this area?”
Security: “Yes, those people working in Danga Bay. They stay here.”
Me: “I am looking to buy a condominium house here.”
Security: “Really???”…. (The eyes widened in disbelieved when I mentioned that)
Me: Yup. That is why I am surveying around. I want to check it out if the place is really good, easy to find tenants for rental and of course security is important“.
Security: “The place here is good. With the development of WPI (Wilayah Persekutuan Iskandariah), the place will transformed few years down the road. I think it will be in line with wawasan 2020 (Malaysia’s aim to be developed country by year 2020)”.
Me: But the place here looks like a ghosttown.Nobody around here.”
Security: The place here will soon be developed. The government just shifted their office to Nusajaya, nearby. Which means they are serious in developing this place. Last year one of the apartment here cost RM100k+. Now it cost RM200k.”
Me: That must be a Bumiputra (Malay Reserved tend to be cheaper). I read from a web, it cost RM600k.
Security: Which unit is that? I believed u mentioned the one at level 9. Because it’s 2 houses combined together. The space is big. The penthouse (top of the building), itself cost RM1.2 million.
Me: Ic…How about the rental here? (Just to confirm what I read from the website)
Security: Rental can fetch between Rm1.6k to RM2k per month. Yah….The maintenance fee here is RM216/mth.
Me: I heard that security for condominium houses in Malaysia is always laxed. I heard its not safe to buy properties in Malaysia. My friend advise me to buy property only if the building is already completed.
Security: Security for this apartment is definitely tight. I wont allow people enter this place easily. For properties, you have to really look at the developer.
Our conversation went on and on…. I tried to excuse myself, yet he continues the conversation. (Guess they might be bored with their routinic job
)
He then passed me a few websites that I can look into and a few numbers I can call if I am in doubt.
Verdict: I will accumulate the money asap. 4 years is a good time period to see how far will the place be developed. The outcome of the Malaysia Election is also important.
If Ghani Othman remains as the Menteri Besar for Johor Bahru, I am confident the WPI project will goes on.
We will wait and see! ![]()

zaki >>> I will do lots of field research, go for property seminars conducted by local experts in Malaysia and conduct exhaustive financial analysis before making any decisions to invest any properties.
Yes!
The condominium in the picture which you are seeing right now, will be my goal for now, achieveble 4 years down the road.
I believe getting a property in Malaysia will eventually make you a millionaire in the future.
