Today’s Monday Motivational Post, that I will like to share with you is, a story, that may be relevant with many out there, in mark of Singapore’s technical recession.
You see, many of us in SALES, love to give excuses, when the economy is not doing well.
Hope this story inspires! ![]()

This is a story about a man who sold hotdogs by the roadside. He was illiterate and he never read or listened to the news media. He was ignorant of what was happening in the economic scene. However, he was very successful in his hot dog business.
One day, his son who had just graduated from college came home to join him. The son was knowledgeable and started to tell the father of the financial crisis that was going on. After the conversation with his son, he started to cut down on his orders and decided to reduce his business. He was no longer enthusiastic and very soon his business declined. He told his son, “Son you were right. We are in the middle of a recession and I am glad you warned me about it.”
What Can We Learn From This Story?
Sometimes it is better to be ignorant.
At least it does not pollute our mind with negative news and events. The old man did not know about what was happening in the world and he was happy and successful, but the moment he started getting information about the real world he was filled with fear. He began to have negative expectations.
His son may be an educated person with a lot of knowledge but he may not necessary be a man of wisdom.
So friends, who are in the same business as me, go all out there, and service all our clients. They need us especially, at this critical point of time. Opportunities are out there. Fund prices are super low now, giving your clients opportunity to make money, should they buy now and hold their investment at least for 5 years.
This uncertainty also means that, many out there need to set aside contingency funds in case anything were to happen. Advise them, on safe, capital guaranteed, financial instruments, they should take.
This technical financial crisis also means, that client needs more protection and more coverage, especially on the sole breadwinner. Preach the idea on insurance.
Continue to run as we pace 2009 with style and confidence! ![]()
